Troop 332 Mission Statement
Troop 332 stands for scouting the way it is intended to be; the way it should be. It is not a baby-sitting service for the luxury of parents; nor is it a practice meeting of the local basketball team; nor a factory meant to dole out advancements and merit badges as regularly and in as great a number as possible.
Instead, it is
a training ground where boys grow into men. In Troop 332 it is not
important how many merit badges you earn, but how you earn them -- it is
far more important to develop your skills and acquire knowledge than to
simply acquire a piece of fabric. Troop 332 is a family that helps
you to learn and grow, helps you to take responsibility for yourself and
for others.
Troop 332 is
about acquiring skills -- learning things that are of value to an individual
in his adult life -- things such as survival, knot tying, first aid and
physical fitness.
But most importantly
it is about acquiring character. It is about reverence, citizenship
and honesty, generosity and integrity, loyalty and leadership.
